Egg Blend

Eggs are one of the most common items found on breakfast and brunch menus everywhere. It is no doubt that it is a go-to breakfast for many, and the thought of giving them up can be daunting to die-hard egg fanatics.  

We have developed a spice blend that you can keep on hand, so that you, too, can have savory egg dishes any time you want! Scrambles? Sure!! Omelets? Of course!! Egg sandwich?? It’s all yours!!

No longer will breakfast seem like an incomplete meal; no more will eggs be a thing of the past. With this blend, all the hard work has been taken out and all you have to do is simply ADD IT TO TOFU!!  I think that’s even easier than cracking an egg! I promise, we will show you exactly what to do with it, but feel free to experiment on your own.

The key to this spice blend is the kala namak (black salt). It is essential to making your basic tofu taste (and smell) like eggs. It is generally very cheap to buy, and can be found at international, Indian or well stocked markets. Additionally, adding some regular pink salt (or sea/kosher) may be necessary, depending on your taste. They have different flavors, so adding extra to your dish is up to you.


Egg Blend {recipe}

Yields: 1 Cup +



  • 1 cup Nutritional Yeast
  • 4 tsp Black Salt (Kala Namak)
  • 1 tsp Turmeric
  • 1 tsp Granulated Garlic
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/4 tsp Black Pepper



  1. Combine all ingredients in a 1 pint mason jar.
  2. Shake to incorporate.
  3. Store for making delicious egg-less dishes.


NOTE: Kala Namak AKA Black Salt is essential in this blend. It gives the sulfuric taste that eggs have so that your dishes come out tasting just as you might remember an egg to taste like. This spice can be found at most Indian supermarkets and please note it is pink or grey in color, not black, not to be confused with Black Sea Salt.
